Here's the honest read on this market. The Shreveport–Bossier City MSA has declined every year for a decade, from about 404,000 in 2015 to roughly 384,000 in 2024. Casino & Hotel Louisiana opened in February 2025 as the market's first land-based casino and shifted revenue share immediately, and Bally's completed its acquisition of Sam's Town Shreveport in August 2026. Film we'd treat as aspirational rather than a pillar: Louisiana's credit cap was cut to $125 million and statewide production has been thin.

Where the customers are

Youree Drive through Broadmoor and Shreve Island is the retail and dining spine. South Highlands and Ellerbe Woods are the high-value residential targets — Ellerbe averages around $380,000 in home value against roughly $55,000 in Queensborough. That spread is wider than most cities this size, which means targeting here has to be geographic and neighborhood-level, not city-wide. Downtown is in active redevelopment. Across the river: Bossier City, plus Benton and Haughton.

Don't stop at the MSA line

Shreveport is the hub of the Ark-La-Tex, a four-state region of roughly 1.47 million people. Regional search intent reaches well past the metro — into Marshall (44 miles) and Longview (67 miles) in Texas, and toward Texarkana. For higher-ticket services, that regional radius is often where the margin is.
